LARCON^TM 50%EC

The safest mosquito larvicide that is highly effective against larvae of all species of mosquito. It can be used in a variety of breeding sites i.e. in potable clean water to highly polluted water. It contains 50% Temephos, an organo-phosphorous group of insecticides, as an active ingredient.

Its use is patronized by the Government (Central and State) under their National Vector Borne Diseases Control Programme, Municipal authorities, Defense services, etc.

Mode of action

It acts as a contact poison. Once applied to breeding site, it spreads well within the water body. It remains effective for one week.

Safety

LARCON^TM 50%EC is very safe to human and other non-target animals. That has led to WHO and NVBDCP recommendation for its use in potable water.

Application

5 7.5 ml of LARCON^TM 50%EC is to be diluted in ten litres of water and sprayed over 500 m2 of clean water breeding sites, viz., shallow ponds, lakes, woodland ponds, etc.

10 15 ml of LARCON^TM 50%EC is to be diluted in ten litres water and sprayed over 500 m2 of moderately polluted water breeding sites, viz., tidal water, marshes, swamps, etc.

15 20 ml of LARCON^TM 50%EC is to be diluted in ten litres water and sprayed over 500 m2 of heavily polluted water breeding sites, viz., drains, septic tanks, etc.
